Valentine's Day 'Gift' Guide

As we have shared before, we are open to the fact we choose to not have 'stuff' in our home. We don't like to buy things just to buy 'things' and we love love love to give experiences or special items as gifts for any holiday. After all, these little humans are truly the greatest gift Dino and I have ever received.

And with Valentine's Day just a few days away, I pulled some ideas for events, experiences or - my fave - homemade coupons for little treats around the house or special dates.

This year, I am giving the boys a coupon for a free hour of video games to use as they please - super easy and their day will be M A D E ! lol

Quinn sleeps with Foxi's ultrasound picture every night and I just LOVE it - it melts me, so this year I decided to gift her my little locket from my fave [ small biz! ] jewelry spot, @afamilyprintshop . One side of the locket has Foxi's ultrasound picture in it and the other side has her name. I think Quinn is going to literally freak out and I love that it is something she can keep forever.

And I think for Foxi, I am going to give her a membership to a hair club because girlfriend is balding like newborns do! I kinda love it - you know balding Bob! [ if you know, you know! ]

Here are some other ideas for Valentine's Day fun for the entire family - after all, what is better that being together with every single one of your Valentine's?

1. Get dressed up for a fancy [ or hey, oven taco ]  dinner party at home - end the night with #aabdanceparty

2. Plan separate dates for each of your children - like lunch, or an activity like visiting a museum - to make them feel special [ this is where those fun coupons come in! My kids love to receive a coupon because it gives them the power to present it at any time and it makes it so fun! ]

3. Have a craft day and make Valentine's to give to neighbors and friends - we did this for Christmas and it was a big family hit! Grab a yummy coffee and get creative!

4. Plan Valentine's brunch or dinner that they help make - include heart shaped pizzas, waffles, cookies [ all of the above ]  - I have some fun, yummy recipes pinned too! I linked a bunch of Dino's kitchen faves here too!

5. Plan an outdoor activity such as a family hike or walk and pack a picnic lunch to enjoy during or after! We LOVE to go walk as a family, so having a fun little lunch planned afterwards is such a treat and the perfect reward! I always love to grab some fresh foliage too so I can put them on my fave wooden pedestal by the sink. It's a pretty reminder of a happy family walk!

Happy Valentine's Day! xo, Ash
