Painting Our HOME (!) with Behr Paint

We finally pulled the trigger and partnered with Behr Paint for the ultimate DIY: painting this big beautiful babe of a house!
My sweet, loving, amazing (did I mention wonderful?) Mother agreed to help us tackle this job so we had the manpower, now for the tools...
We borrowed Ger (the Gem)’s paint sprayer which works amazingly well and SO FAST! Normally you can purchase a nice sprayer for around $1K, or The Home Depot rents them for a fraction of the cost to purchase. Ger is the man.
The most important (and so exciting!!) part - Choosing the color!
We chose
BEHR MARQUEEⓇ Exterior
Flat Paint in ‘Limousine Leather’.
It’s this gorgeous, rich, buttery, delicious black. AND - It’s known for repelling dust and not fading. Sign us up!
This color. IS. INCREDIBLE. Like so incredible, that first night after painting, I wanted to just sleep outside and stare at it...all night long. Like, really.
For the pergola, we chose Behr’s ‘Black Locust’ - it’s kind of a grey / green and SO SO SO pretty. It pops so well against the ‘Limousine Leather’ ...swoon.

Overall this project was about a day and a half of prep work and two and a half days of painting. Our house is about 3400 sq ft - to hire this out the cost would have been somewhere between $15K - $20K. Without the labor cost, borrowing the sprayer, our only cost was paint and supplies!
So you want to know how much it cost from start to finish to paint Chateau Petrone? Just under two thousand dollars! I know, I know. I am impressed as well!
Watching the transformation of this glorious paint project come to life so quickly was mind blowing! We are ONE HUNNIT percent happy with how it all turned out, and we know that with using Behr Paint, our home will look amazing for so many years to come!
