Creating a Simple Tablescape

I’ve dressed up my dining room tables in rentals, apartments, homes of all sizes… but my all time favorite was doing it in our trailer we lived in. It was a tiny table from Ikea with 5 small bar stools… nothin fancy. Which is why I think I feel in love with the simplicity of making it pretty. You don't need much.

Usually it was just for our family, sometimes for guests. But it brought me joy. I’d grab a base and cut foliage outside or find some fruit laying around and make a little designs. Candles are always a must for adding ambience. And sometimes that’s all you need!

I’d really shop my own home to add some personality to the table. Bring in texture, bring in unique, bring in the unexpected! Don’t over stress it! It’s all about what brings you and your family joy. And your guests will feed off that, and it will just be a fun accent to the evening.

What causes you to smile when you walk in a room or sit down to eat? It’s not about what people will think about your home, it’s the joy you get from loving the home you’re in that overflows to the guests that get to enjoy it.
