When we moved into the trailer one year ago, I had no idea what life was gonna be like. Honestly, I had no idea it would be this good. Also that is just crazy to say… one year! How did that happen?
I receive a lot of emails from people asking if they should take the plunge into tiny living. I love connecting with all of them and hearing their story. But ultimately, my answer circles back to the same thing. Pray about it. I can’t tell you what to do with your life. But what I can do, is share that the good stuff in life is always a little uncomfortable. Going tiny, changing jobs, moving across the country. They all stretch us out of our comfort zone, but life would be pretty boring if we never pursued our dreams or took risks.
What I love most about living in the RV is how its changed the kids. The way they play now is like a child (in my mind) should play. Little to no technologie, using their imaginations and exploring this beautiful world and their minds that God blessed them with. I know we won’t be here forever, so its all the more reason to soak it all in and enjoy the journey. This past year has opened up so many opportunities for our family. Its been incredible sharing our story with everyone as well as meeting some incredible people. Again, you just never know what can come out of making (in our minds) a simple step. Stepping out, fearless and trying something new.
I don’t know if there is anything that I haven’t loved. I guess if anything, there have just been some uncomfortable moments. The whole family being sick in here, homeschooling in here was not a good combination for our family, and then of course all of the stretching… all that stretching and growing is just exhausting at times. But we are in it and we are learning. There is lots of grace to give and lots of grace to have. So Im thankful for all the messy uncomfortable times. In the end, I know His will is always way better than anything we could imagine. It just gets me excited to see what God has in store for us. Next steps?? We are still working on getting our land ready to build. This process is so much longer than we had imagined. But in this in-between time we have lots going on! Currently finishing up the renovation on the airstream, working with clients on renovating their trailers and homes. As well as working on our blog/book on marriage. Lots going on… but that’s kinda how we thrive in life! Can’t wait to see what this next year hold!
